2018 Award Ceremony in Geneva

In December 2018 the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses held the annual breeders award ceremony for the FEI ranking winners in cooperation with the sponsor Rolex in Geneva.


The world's leading breeders gathered in the city of Geneva Saturday night to be honored for their extraordinary breeding products. The winners of the WBFSH/Rolex Breeder Rankings in dressage, show jumping and eventing received their WBFSH certificates and an exquisite Rolex watch presented by Joël Aeschlimann from Rolex and Jan Pedersen, president of the WBFSH.

Breeder of Best dressage horse

Cornelia Tijssen Crum, the wife of the deceased Peter Crum, breeder of Verdades, was accompanied to the WBFSH Breeder Awards by her daughter Meggy van der Linden Crum.
Pictured with them are, to the left show jumping legend Rodrigo Pessoa and to the right former World No. 1 in the FEI world ranking, Kent Farrington as well as President of the WBFSH, Jan Pedersen.

Breeder of Best showjumper

Mario Everse and his wife Mischa bred Zinius, who is ridden by Harrie Smolders. Pictured with them are, to the left show jumping legend Rodrigo Pessoa and former World No 1 in the FEI world ranking, Kent Farrington and to the right President of the WBFSH, Jan Pedersen. Mario Everse also co-owned Olympic Gold medal winner Big Star before he was sold to Nick Skelton as a five year old.

Breeder of Best eventing horse

Thomas van Bezouw, son of the deceased Adriaan van Bezouw received the award for Jumping Breeder of the Year on behalf of his father who bred Albano Z (aka Z). Thomas was accompanied by his mother Marina van Mierlo. They are pictured here with showjumping legend Rodrigo Pessoa (left) and World No. 1 in the FEI world ranking Kent Farrington (to the right) and President of the WBFSH, Jan Pedersen (far right).
