The WBFSH General Assembly 2016

The WBFSH General Assembly has taken place on 13 December 2016 during the annual meeting in Geneva

WBFSH president Jan Pedersen got elected for another three-year-period.

The WBFSH Annual Meetings 2016 have been hosted by the Swiss Warmblood studbook ZVCH  and has taken place 10-13 December in Geneva.


A full and very interesting programme has taken the participants to the gigantic horse show CHI Geneva and several Swiss sport and breeding facilities as well as it has offered a wide range of seminars with lectures and discussions on various relevant aspects of horse breeding.


Today on the last day of the annual meetings the General Assembly has taken place. The WBFSH president during 18 years, Jan Pedersen was eligible for re-election after his sixth term was coming to an end, and he was elected by the assembly for another three-year-period.


The president proclaimed Frenchman Xavier Guibert an honary member of the WBFSH for promoting the sport horse in general and in particular for his huge and persistant work for WBFSH during a number of years. Xaver Guibert is the person behind the unique equine life number, UELN.


At the General Assembly the president presented the representatives of the winning studbooks with the diplomas for placing first on the WBFSH/Rolex Studbook Rankings 2016 in dressage, show jumping and eventing.


The WBFSH has a good cooperation with the international equestrian federation, the FEI, and together the two organisations work to increase the understanding between sport and breeding. The FEI president Mr. Ingmar De Vos spoke to the delegates the general assembly about the future for equestrian sport.
