Impressive Oldenburg Main Premium Winners

Two newcomers, Morricone and Hickstead White, shined as the celebrated Oldenburg main premium winners. When deciding which stallion is to receive a main premium, not only the stallion’s achievements in sport but also the result of his performance test and, even more important, the quality of his first foal crop, are deciding factors

The main premium in the dressage sector went to the 2014 Oldenburg Champion Stallion, Morricone, born 2012, by Millennium/Trakehner, out of Hartima by Rubin-Royal - De Niro, bred by Heinrich Vahle from Friesoythe and owned by Gestüt Bonhomme GmbH & Co. in Werder. Morricone won the dressage index at the 30-day test in Adelheidsdorf. This noble black stallion with talent for dressage finished his test with a final score of 9.33. The judges gave Morricone 9.0 for his trot and canter and the highest possible score of 10.0 for his walk.  


The second main premium for stallions with emphasis on dressage was awarded to Dreamline, born 2012, by Don Olymbrio L out of Diddelu Kilen by Hotline - Don Romantic, bred by Henning Urup from Denmark and owned by Blue Hors Aps, Denmark. Dreamline has already sent offspring to the Elite Foal Auctions in Vechta. The third main premium was awarded to Honoré du Soir/Trakehner, born 2012, by Easy Game out of Lara Croft by Latimer - Banditentraum, bred by Marten Hillmann from Bassum and owned by Gerd Sosath, Lemwerder. The dam Lara Croft had also previously been bred to San Amour, which produced not only the 2012 Oldenburg Bundeschampion of three-year old mares and geldings, Soiree d'Amour OLD, who meanwhile wins fourth level dressage tests with Kira Wulferding, but also the Oldenburg bronze medal winner at the 2013 Bundeschampionat in the class for five-year old dressage horses, Soiree de Saumur OLD, ridden by Ann-Kristin Dornbracht.


Springpferdezuchtverband Oldenburg-International awarded the main premium to Hickstead White, OS, born 2012, by Hickstead out of Queentina by Coupe de Coeur - Quidam’s Rubin, bred and owned by Gestüt Sprehe GmbH in Löningen. Hickstead White was licensed in 2014. At his 30-day test in Neustadt/Dosse, the OS stallion was awarded 9.5 for his ability to jump. In sport, the son of the legendary Hickstead and his rider Vanessa Bode have already achieved their first victories in 1.10 meter tests for young show jumpers.


The second main premium for stallions with emphasis on jumping went to Casino Grande, born 2012, by Casino Berlin out of Baccara by Contact Me - Landadel, bred and owned by Gerd Sosath, Lemwerder. At his 30-day test in Schlieckau, Casino Grande received 10.0 for his ability to jump. This highly skilled Oldenburg jumper stallion finished his test with a final score of 9.20. Casino Grande was licensed in Vechta in 2014 where he received the I-c premium. The third main premium went to Casalido, born 2011, by Casall out of Kyara by Calido - Calypso II, bred by Peter Nagel-Tornau from Wangels and owned by Gerd Sosath, Lemwerder.
