Today, the first round viewing of the 2010/2011 stallion selection concluded with the follow-up viewing. Twenty-four jumper stallions and thirteen dressage stallions were presented on hard ground. Of these, three young jumpers and one dressage horse were advanced to the second round viewing, following the free movement/free jumping evaluation.

Dulf van den Bisschop (Heartbreaker x Libero H), a seven-year-old, was also presented today. The stallion selection committee advanced him directly to the third round viewing, with the condition that the committee views a collection of his offspring.

The three-year-old Mr. Blue x Mermus R, cat. 627, passed the first round viewing on November 24, 2010 and underwent the second round viewing today. The half-brother of the Champion stallion Arthos R had made clear progress since November, and therefore, the stallion selection committee advanced him to the third round viewing.

In addition, cat. 649 (Con Amore x Donnerhall), the three-year-old dressage stallion that advanced to the second round viewing in Stegeren, was promoted to the third round viewing today following his presentation under saddle.

The stallion selection committee advanced 118 young jumper stallions and 58 young dressage stallions to the second round viewing in 's-Hertogenbosch. The addition of three older jumper stallions, two older dressage stallions, and the English Thoroughbred Hopalong Cassidy xx brings the total to 182. These numbers mean that 36% of the jumpers and 29% of the dressage horses will advance another round.

Leading sires of the second round viewing jumper stallions are as follows: Berlin (nine offspring), Canturano (six offspring from his first year at stud), Cardento (five offspring), Mr. Blue (five offspring), Vigaro (five offspring from his first year at stud), Indoctro (four offspring), Lucky Boy (four offspring), and Whitaker (four offspring from his first year at stud). Among the dressage stallions, Vivaldi boasts the best representation with five offspring, followed by Jazz (four offspring), Wynton (five offspring from his first year at stud), and Westpoint (three offspring from his first year at stud).

The stallions that passed today's viewing are listed in the schedule on www.kwpn.org.
