Hanoverian Stallion Licensing

2010-10-24

16 of the 46 licensed Hanoverian colts, born in 2008, were honoured as premium stallions, 10 of them had a dressage and six a show jumping pedigree.
- We saw excellent dressage youngsters with top prospects for the future. For the show jumping stallions, Stakkato confirmed one more time that he is a top-notch for breeding and sport, breeding and business manager Dr. Werner Schade summarized the impressions of the licensing committee.

The Hanoverian studbook decided three years ago to no longer appoint champion stallions in order for the breeders not to focus too much on single young individuals in the following breeding season. Nevertheless, they appoint a group of premium stallions as the skimmed cream of the collection.
However, at the following sales the most expensive colt was to be found outside the premium ring. A noble bay by Sir Donnerhall I/Lauries Crusador xx claimed the highest price and will spend his future as a sire at the Lower Saxonian National State Stud Celle.
