Horse Sport Ireland has introduced a new Star Rating system for stallions Approved in the Irish Sport Horse studbook. Stallions can gain between 1 and 5 Stars based of their own performance, or their progeny’s performance, in show jumping, eventing and dressage.
Only the very top performance stallions and performance sires are awarded 5 Stars. In order achieve this coveted status stallions must have jumped two double clear rounds at CSI/CSIO5* level (Grand Prix or Nation’s Cup) or the equivalent in eventing or dressage. Stallions that produce two progeny that have achieved this level of performance can also be awarded 5 Stars.
Visitors to the 2010 Dublin Horse Show, RDS, 4th to 8th August, will be treated to a parade of 5 Star stallions. A total of 14 stallions are due to take part in the HSI Irish Sport Horse Five Star Stallion Parade at the RDS on Friday 6th August at 12.25pm and Saturday 7th August at 1pm. The stallion parade is the first of its kind in Ireland and is expected to be of huge interest to sport horse breeders worldwide.
