Shortly after his arrival in Belgium the 18 year old Holsteiner stallion got a colic attack and died following a presumably successfull operation at a horse clinic.
The grey jumper stallion by Capitol I / Cor de la Bryère was licensed in Denmark at the age of three years and soon became popular with the breeders. Although most of his progeny have proved to be talented jumpers a considerable amount of offspring has shown great talent in the dressage arena, too.
Carano has 860 registered progeny in Denmark and has taken a high position in the Danish Warmblood jumping index. Carano has had several sons and daughters competing at the world championships for young horses at both Verden and Zangersheide.
In 2004 Carano, who was aldready an elite stallion, was proclaimed stallion of the year in Danish Warmblood. Meanwhile he was approved in the German Holsteiner Verband and sired an approved son in Germany.
