The Oldenburg licensed stallion Welt Hit II has been humanely put down on Friday October 9, 2009. The black stallion by Weltmeyer x Hill Hawk xx x Harald suffered regularly from bouts of colic but last Friday the attack was so severe that the stallion could not be rescued by the veterinarians. He was 17-years old.

Welt Hit II was born in 1992 and became the reserve champion of the 1994 Oldenburg Stallion Licensing. In 1995 he did his stallion performance test in Medingen and scored 141,74 points for dressage. Welt Hit II came into ownership of the Dutch stallion station De Havikerwaard in 1996.

He was competed up to Prix St Georges level. He was shown by Oliver Luze, Leida Strijk, Ebba von Essen, and Coby van Baalen. In 1997 and 1998 he was proclaimed The Coming Stallion at the Zwolle International Stallion Show and in 1998 he finished sixth at the Bundeschampionate in Warendorf. In 2001 he won the bronze medal at small tour level at the Dutch Dressage Championships.

He produced more than 20 licensed sons and many international dressage horses such as Grand Prix horses Sagacious, Weltino and Weltissimo, and small tour horses Riondine and Wup. He briefly stood at stud at the Swedish State Stud in Flyinge but health issues meddled with him covering.
