Andreas Helgstrand leaving Blue Hors in order to establish own business

Chief rider at Blue Hors Dressage Andreas Helgstrand has decided to establish his own company Helgstrand Dressage. Therefore, he leaves his position at Blue Hors by the end of the year 2008.

Andreas Helgstrand was employed by Blue Hors 7 years ago, and together both partners have experienced a tremendous development. Their cooperation has lead to the education of some of the best dressage horses in Denmark in recent time. This matter is best illustrated by the fact that Helgstrand has won the Danish dressage championship four years in a row with four different horses and has won individual silver and bronze at WEG 2006. Furthermore, Helgstrand has just returned from the OG 2008 with a bronze team medal.

Andreas Helgstrand:
"It has been some truly wonderful years at Blue Hors. I have learned so much by now, that I feel like standing on my own two feet. In order to do so one needs considerable financial means, and I am very grateful to Lotte and Ole Vagner for having secured the economical foundation for my company. The aim of Helgstrand Dressage is to create a new place where well trained and talented dressage horses are purchased and trained the last bit of their road to Grand Prix with the view to selling.
Thereby, I will no longer be involved with breeding or young horses, but solely buy and train upperlevel dressage horses to be fine-tuned for Grand Prix. I look forward to creating a place with an exclusive focus on dressage.”

Esben Møller, director of Blue Hors:
"At Blue Hors we have been delighted to have Andreas aboard our team and would have liked to see him continue. We have known from the beginning that Andreas at a given point of time would want to realize his dream of working independently. Nevertheless, it is a disappointment that it happens at this point where we have such a strong foundation for future success and where Danish dressage sport is stronger than it has been for many years.
We naturally respect his decision, and we wish Andreas the best of luck and happiness in his new challenges. ”

Andreas Helgstrand will conduct his duties at Blue Hors during this Autumn, and a process of finding a new chief rider will be initiated shortly.
