Fiontini did it again

Last year's 5-year-old champion, the Danish mare Fiontini, has won the qualification for 6-year-olds just like she won the qualification in Verden last year

The sisters Fiontini and Fiontina by Fassbinder x BH Romanov (bred by Hanne Lund and Henrik Hansen) became world famous at the FEI/WBFSH world championships last year when they won gold and silver. This year a small injury has kept Fiontina from competing in Ermelo, but her world champion sister has come to the Netherlands with her Spanish rider Severo Jurado Lopez to defend her champion title. Today the pair delivered an effortless and almost flawless test and won the qualification for 6-year-olds with 90.20%.

Fiontini was followed by two stallions in the top three. Runner-up KWPN stallion Five Star by Amazing Star x Jazz (bred by Bijveld and owned by Wilaras) was ridden by Kirsten Brouwer to a score of 87.00% addressing Sir Olli to third position only by a margin. Sir Ollie is an OLDB stallion by Sir Donnerhall I x Florestan I bred by Gerd Kiest and owned by Vivien Küst. Ridden by Ann-Katrien Wienkamp he achieved 86,80%.

12 horses have made the cut to the final for 6-year-olds on Sunday and tomorrow another three will qualify through the consolation final. View the result of today's qualification HERE.
