The September rankings including the European Championships in August had some changes compared to the previous month: Dressage horse Bella Rose came from 8th place straight into the lead of the Breeders ranking for dressage horses ahead of stable mate Weihegold, who actually won the rankings in 2017! Eventing horse Fischerchipmunk rose from 7th place to take the top position of the Breeders ranking for eventing horses.

In the studbook rankings there has been a few ups and downs from August to September. In the Studbook rankings for eventing horses the Holsteiner studbook was dropped from first to third place which has allowed the Hanoverian studbook to climb up into the leading position. In show jumping the KWPN studbook and the Westfalian studbook firmly hold on to first and second position, and when it comes to dressage it is the KWPN studbook and the Hanoverian studbook that hold on to their first to places whilst the Westfalian Studbook has overtaken third place from the Oldenburg Studbook.

The winners of the three Breeder rankings will receive an invitation to the LONGINES WBFSH Breeder Awards which will take place during the Longines Equita Lyon Concours Hippique International in Lyon, France the first weekend of November. On Saturday night the ranking winners will be honored for their extraordinary breeding products. The winners of the LONGINES WBFSH Breeder Rankings in dressage, show jumping and eventing receive their WBFSH certificates and an exquisite Longines watch presented by a representative of Longines and Jan Pedersen, president of the WBFSH.

Last year’s winners of the Breeders ranking were:

  • The Crum family from the Netherlands for breeding the KWPN dressage gelding Verdades.
  • Mischa and Maria Everse from the Netherlands for breeding the KWPN show jumping gelding Zinius.
  • The Bezouw family from Belgium for breeding the ZANG eventing gelding Albano Z (aka Z).
