Who will we see in the finals?

We have taken a closer look at the bloodlines and studbooks behind the horses that have qualified for the finales of the FEI/WBFSH World Breeding Championships in Lanaken

Among the 53 horse and rider combinations in the finals for 5-year-olds we see 4 offspring by Balou du Rouet and 3 by Diarado and Clinton each. 12 horses are registered with the Zangersheide studbook, 9 are KWPN, 4 BWP, 4 OS, 3 ISH, 3 HANN, 3 AES, 2 WESTF, 2 SWB, 1 DWB, 1 SBS and 1 HOLST. Furthermore, the field consists of 11 Belgian riders, 9 Dutch, 6 Irish, 6 British, 4 Swedish, 4 German rider, 2 Italian, 2 Norwegian, 2 Brazilian, 1 Austrian, 1 Colombian, 1 Danish and 1 Spanish rider.

 

In the finales for 6-year-olds we have 43 horses and riders combinations. 3 horses are by Numero Uno whilst Emerald van’t Ruytershof has sired 2 of the finalists. 8 horses are registered with BWP, 7 ZANG, 4 KWPN, 4 HOLST, 2 DWB, 2 WESTF, 2 SF, 2 ISH, 1 SBS, 1 HANN and 1 registered with the AES. Nothing less than 12 riders compete for Belgium, 7 riders are German, 5 British, 4 Irish, 3 Swedish, 2 Danish, 1 Norwegian, 1 Italian, 1 Brazilian, 1 Rumanian, 1 Egyptian and 1 Slovakian rider.

 

Among 40 finalists at the age of 7 we find nothing less than four offspring by Diamant de Semilly and two by Zirocco Blue VDL. 8 horses are registered with the KWPN, 5 ISH, 3 BWP, 3 HANN, 3 ZANG, 2 OLDB, 2 HOLST, 2 SF, 1 SWB, 1 HSH, 1 WESTF, 1 OS, 1 SBS and 1 CH. The rider are representing Germany (10), Belgium (9), Ireland (8), the Netherlands (4), Hungary (1), Great Britain (1), Portugal (1), Luxemburg (1), Switzerland (1), Sweden (1) and Spain (1).
